"The Fighter" filmmaker David O. Russell (CAA, Gang Tyre) is attached to direct "American Bullshit," a crime drama set up at Sony and being produced by Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven and Richard Suckle.
As the manhunt for one of the two alleged Boston Marathon bombers unfolded in the outskirts of Boston, shooting was suspended on the David O. Russell film American Hustle, which had been filming in the Boston area this week.
“The production is heeding the governor’s request ‘to remain indoors,'” said a spokesperson for Sony, which is releasing the film.

Principal photography began March 18 in Boston and has been filming in the surrounding area. The production moved to Worcester — a city 46 miles west of Boston — on April 9 and returned to the Boston area on Wednesday, April 17, a day before the FBI released images of the suspects.
The movie about an FBI sting operation in the late ‘70s stars Christian Bale, Amy Adams and Bradley Cooper.
Cooper was seen this week visiting one of the bombing victims in a local hospital accompanied by New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman, who tweeted the photo.

Due to the citywide shutdown, the Boston Comic Con has also been postponed.
A notice that was posted on the event’s official website reads “Due to the unfortunate events that have transpired here in Boston, a lock down has been put into effect until further notice, causing the Hynes Convention Center to suspend all events.”
The convention, which was supposed to take place April 20 and 21, will be reschedule to “a date in the not too distant future.”
The Bruins and The Red Sox both postponed their Friday night games.
The Red Sox’s Twitter account stated that the decision was made “to support efforts of law enforcement officers.”
Of the Bruin’s game, the NHL has said it will be updated no later than 8:30 a.m. ET April 20.
