Some Bridget Jones fans who buy the latest book in the series, which hit stores Thursday, might get a little more bang for their buck.
Because of a printing error, some U.K. copies of the novel include about 40 pages of British actor David Jason‘s autobiography, My Life.

In the faulty editions, the story about Bridget — now a 51-year-old single mother following husband Mark Darcy’s death — suddenly switches to Jason’s memories of working on the popular BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses.
According to the U.K.’s Evening Standard, publisher Penguin Random House has been working to remove the erroneous copies from distribution.
“There was a small print error,” a spokesman said. “I can’t say how many.”
Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, Helen Fielding‘s third novel in the series, has already made headlines — and sparked outrage — for the author’s decision to kill off Darcy, a beloved character among fans.

Fielding told Time earlier this week that his death was necessary to drive the story.
“That was absolutely inherent from the start,” she said. “Pain and confusion and those sorts of things are where the jokes come from. There has to be an integrity to what those jokes mean.”
Three years ago, HarperCollins made a similar mistake with Jonathan Franzen‘s Freedom, publishing about 80,000 copies of an earlier draft filled with typos.
