Bristol Palin had a little nip and tuck ahead of her BIO reality show.
But the daughter of the former Alaska governor swears it was for health reasons.
The Associated Press says that Palin, 20, had corrective jaw surgery in December after getting the boot from Dancing With the Stars.
She says the operation was “necessary for medical reasons” — to fix an overbite — in an upcoming interview with Us Weekly. ANALYSIS: Is Bristol Palin the Jimmy Carter of Our New Times?
But when asked about her beliefs on plastic surgery, she tells the magazine, “I wouldn’t get plastic surgery unless I got in an accident or something terrible and got disfigured.”
Palin’s face looked more angular at a recent Candie’s Foundation 2011 benefit. She is an abstinence spokeswoman for the organization.
BIO recently announced it picked up 10 episodes of a reality show featuring Palin and her son, Tripp, 2, moving to Los Angeles. It will chronicle her living with her good friends, Disney stars Chris Massey, 21, and his brother, Kyle, 19. (She began close with Kyle when they both competed on Dancing With the Stars.)
It will air later this year.
“Bristol is the kind of personality BIO is drawn to,” David McKillop, executive vice president of programming for A&E and the BIO Channel said in a statement. “Her personal life has been playing out in the media for several years but this will be the first time she’s opening up her real life, with her son and her friends the Massey Brothers.“
