At a ceremony Monday morning in London, the British Fashion Council revealed the nominees for the 2017 Fashion Awards in partnership with Swarovski, which will be held Dec. 4 at the Royal Albert Hall.
Nominees for this year’s awards, which were rebranded the Fashion Awards from the British Fashion Awards in 2016, include plenty of expected faces, including Jonathan Anderson (nominated in four categories this year for his work at JW Anderson and Loewe) as well as Raf Simons for Calvin Klein and Alessandro Michele for Gucci.
There were a few surprises among the nominees, too, including Supreme, which is mentioned for the first time in the urban luxe brand category alongside Rihanna’s Fenty x Puma.
Last year’s model of the year, Gigi Hadid, is nominated once again, as is her sister Bella Hadid and 2017’s hottest newcomer, Kaia Gerber. Winnie Harlow and Adwoa Aboah are also nominated.
“These designers and brands were chosen from hundreds of international names and they represent the most creative talent and innovative businesses of the year,” said BFC chairman Dame Natalie Massanet in a release. “I am thrilled to be welcoming them to London on 4th December at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate their incredible achievements, alongside industry friends from the world over.”
