The wait is over: Britney Spears’ new album is here in all its Glory.
The pop superstar’s ninth studio album, Glory, arrived as expected at the stroke of midnight across all digital music platforms. Talk of an exclusive with Apple Music turned out to be just that… talk.
Britney gave her new release a good push across her social media account with a short and sweet message: “it’s here!!!”
The new 12-track album, which leaked in the past week, features Britney’s latest single, “Make Me…” featuring G-Eazy, and earlier releases “Private Show,” “Do You Wanna Come Over?” and “Clumsy.”
It’s the follow-up to 2013’s Britney Jean, which was pitched as her “most personal” but had a lackluster reception for a Britney release. It became her lowest-selling album to debut and peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200.
Spears will commemorate the arrival of Glory with a long-awaited return to the VMA stage on Sunday (Aug. 28), where she’ll make the live TV debut of “Make Me…” And she appeared in the passenger seat for a “Carpool Karaoke” stint on CBS’ The Late Late Show.
She’s been working on Glory for two years in between shows at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas for Britney: Piece of Me, which launched in December 2013 and has dates booked out until February 2017.
