The past year has seen many changes at Kate Spade New York. In January, the label shuttered its casual, less expensive Kate Spade Saturday line and focused more of its efforts on expansion into home, baby and fitness products. Now, using the insight learned from its Saturday venture, WWD reports that the company is launching a new line of more causal wear called Broome Street, which is to show this Friday.

Named after the company’s first SoHo store on Broome Street, the new label will, like Saturday before it, offer a range of denim, cotton tees, dresses and skirts, chunky sweaters and idiom totes, however at a price point similar to the main New York line. The label is meant to offer “weekend essentials” that are cohesive with its main line as well as its more upscale Madison Avenue line.
The 50-piece first collection ranges in price from $65 to $898 and will be available in select Kate Spade New York stores and retailers as well as online at KateSpade.com beginning in February.
