Bruce Jenner came out as transgender during an interview with ABC’s Diane Sawyer on Friday, leaving Hollywood abuzz.
“For all intents and purposes, I am a woman,” the former Olympic gold-medal winner said during the 20/20 segment. “My whole life has been getting me ready for this.”
A number of his family members shared their thoughts on Twitter following the sit-down. Stepdaughter Kim Kardashian wrote that Jenner’s “honesty has opened the doors for others to be courageous and live an authentic life,” while ex-wife Kris Jenner tweeted: “Not only was I able to call him my husband for 25 years and father of my children, I am now able to call him my hero.”
Many Hollywood notables weighed in on social media as well, and their tweets can be seen below.
