Directing team Cary Murnion and Jonathan Milott, who most recently helmed the action-thriller Bushwick which premiered at Sundance, have signed with UTA.
The visceral action film, which is slated for a theatrical release this summer, follows a Texas military force invading a Brooklyn neighborhood, home to Lucy (Brittany Snow) and Stupe (Dave Bautista). THR’s review out of Sundance said: “What distinguishes Bushwick from your standard-issue, boneheaded video game is its cheeky cerebral wit.”
In addition, the duo is currently starting to package their next film, Robbery 101, written by Scott Reynolds and produced by Nick Moceri. The film will follow a down-on-her-luck L.A. woman who recruits friends for a complex armored truck heist which goes awry due to a series of double and triple crosses.
Previously, Murnion and Milott directed the comedic horror film, Cooties, which premiered in the Midnight section of the 2014 Sundance Film Festival, ultimately selling to Lionsgate in a bidding war.
They continue to be represented by Principato-Young Entertainment.
