Cara Delevingne, Pharrell Williams and Hudson Kroenig are apparently a few of Karl Lagerfeld‘s favorite things, er, muses.
The trio of stars in Chanel’s latest ad campaign, shot by Lagerfeld, are sporting the Sound of Music-inspired pre-fall collection of fair isle sweaters, Victorian blouses and thigh-high lace-up boots. The Paris-Salzburg Métiers d’Art collection, which showed first in Salzburg, Austria last December and then New York just a few weeks ago, looks right at home against the avocado-green retro furniture and vintage Austrian casino posters.
Both Delevingne and Williams are no strangers to Lagerfeld’s Paris-Salzburg vision of Chanel, having starred in the brand’s Reincarnation video as a royal Austrian couple before last year’s show, but we’re most impressed with 6-year-old Kroenig’s adorable editorial appearance. The son of Missouri-native Brad Kroenig, who was “discovered” by Lagerfeld after modeling for Abercrombie & Fitch and holds a coveted position in Lagerfeld’s exclusive inner circle, Hudson is already a fashion veteran and handpicked favorite of Lagerfeld himself.
With numerous Chanel shows under his belt, editorial appearances for both Chanel and Fendi, as well as an editorial in German Vogue, Kroenig is well on his way to becoming the industry’s “It” boy. Such is the life when you know Karl Lagerfeld as “Uncle Karl.”
