Critics awards don’t usually bring out fine fashion – they’re understated, rather serious – and often a bit monotonous. But not to British fashion royalty Keira Knightley and Carey Mulligan.
These two haven’t been to the Palm Springs Film Fest Gala and may not appear at the Golden Globes this weekend. So they both took the opportunity to really put on the dog, as they say.

Keira donned a black Nina Ricci cocktail dress, very feminine and flirty, with a tiny waist. Nina Ricci is designed by British designer Peter Copping in Paris, and it’s a highly desirable red carpet label and not easy to produce.
Carey Mulligan, on the other hand, absolutely outdid herself – and that is hard to do, because she’s tres chic – in an ombre shiney pink toned Lanvin cocktail dress. This has got to be one of the most ornate frocks we’ve seen throughout awards season – there simply has not been a cocktail dress this intricate or truly fancy as this one.
