REX USAFor master makeup artist Pat McGrath, there’s no such thing as too bright or too bold. Fittingly, the beauty guru’s first product from her new collection at Pat McGrath Labs is the limited-edition Gold 001 pigment, which fashion die-hards may recognize from Prada’s spring 2016 runway.
After a busy fashion month, during which she was responsible for the beauty not only at Prada, but also at Valentino, Stella McCartney, Louis Vuitton and many other shows, McGrath is focusing her energy on her own new line of daring products. She even debuted the beauty item at a meet-up that she organized with Instagram’s Eva Chen and Vogue during Paris Fashion Week, where legendary photographer Patrick Demarchelier snapped real people — and models Bella Hadid and Stella Maxwell — with their gilded eyelids in the Jardin des Tuileries.

As for how one should wear the shimmery gold pigment, McGrath’s first product, she claims that the sky’s the limit. “You can use it on whatever you want to use it on. As eyeliner, on the lips, eye shadow, highlighting in the corners, highlighting cupid’s bows — it’s really intense,” she tells Pret-a-Reporter.
But if you want to get your hands on the gold, you’d better act fast — there are only 1,000 pigments being produced. “I’ve got 1,000 limited edition. It doesn’t exist anywhere else in the world except for these thousand. I thought it would be fun to not only give them to my team but to other makeup artists, and then we’re going to be selling online.”
