The Chicago Cubs ended their losing streak on Wednesday night and defeated the Cleveland Indians in Game 7 of the World Series.
The historic win was the talk of social media. A picture of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton engrossed with the game on her iPad quickly went viral. Clinton excitedly tweeted her joy when the game ended, “They did it! 108 years later and the drought is finally over. Way to make history, @Cubs. #FlyTheW.”
Bill Murray, a die-hard Cubs fan, couldn’t hide his excitement once his beloved team ended the tension with an 8-7 score.
Other famous fans cluttered Twitter with their reactions and celebratory declarations, including Stephen Colbert, Leslie Jones and Michael Moore.
