It appears that 82-year-old Karl Lagerfeld has a classic case of wanderlust.
In the past four years alone, the Chanel creative director has held the annual Cruise show everywhere from Dallas to Seoul to Dubai, and he even staged his spring 2016 runway show at a faux Chanel airport. Now, according to Harper’s Bazaar U.K., Lagerfeld is taking the Chanel team on a trip to Havana, Cuba, for the Cruise 2017 show in May of next year.
Given the designer’s penchant for new and exciting spaces, it only makes sense he would choose the warm and tropical destination as a welcome break from Paris. There is still much unexplored territory on the island given that U.S. travel sanctions were lifted only earlier this year, so we can’t wait to see what the designer will come up with for the show.
