Crime drama Triple Frontier may be back in play.
Tom Hardy and Channing Tatum are in early talks to star in the Paramount project, which has J.C. Chandor on board to direct, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The project takes its name from the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil, which is known as one of the world’s largest havens for organized crime.
In the 2000s, it was developed as a directing vehicle for Kathryn Bigelow, and the screenplay is by her Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty collaborator Mark Boal. Bigelow came close to making it, but it never came to fruition.
The project, however, continued to draw big-name interest, and in early 2016, Johnny Depp was circling. Time will tell if Hardy and Tatum’s involvement sticks or finally moves the project before cameras.
