TORONTO – Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, Canada’s longest-running game shows, sure get around the primetime dial here.
Hamilton, Ontario-based TV station CHCH has acquired the syndicated U.S. game shows from CBS Paramount International Television after they were jettisoned by the CBC, Canada’s pubcaster, in favor of local shows.
And the CBC in turn acquired Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune in 2008 as lead-ins for its own primetime schedule, after they ran for years on CTV.
Starting Sept. 3, CHCH will air Wheel of Fortune Monday through Saturday at 7 p.m., followed at 7:30 p.m. by Jeopardy.
