CHNL, a social content browser, is hostting the official Streamy Awards afterparty at the rooftop of the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood on Sunday.
Taking place from 5-7 p.m., the afterparty will feature DJ sets from KCRW’s Jason Bentley (“Morning Becomes Eclectic”) and CHNL co-founder and CEO John Wander.
“It seems like there’s a popular new social network every month, creating a discordant experience in our online lives,” said Bentley, who has served as music supervisor on The Matrix trilogy. “I like to think of CHNL as the harmonic convergence of all these social networks. I’m glad to be working with John and everyone at CHNL to bring some in-person harmonic convergence to the Streamys after-party.”
CHNL allows users to scan social media content from diverse sources, with the aim of discovering the content most pertinent to them.
CHNL’s Wander drew the connection between the company and Bentley, who acts as a music curator through his on-air presence on KCRW.
“Jason has helped set the bar when it comes to defining a 21st century curator,” said Wander. “Ultimately, we want CHNL to be the ‘Jason Bentley’ for all your online content, whether that’s your favorite new song or web video. The Streamys are a perfect opportunity for us to work together again.”
The Streamy Awards ceremony will be held Sunday at the Hollywood Palladium at 3 p.m. PST/6 p.m. EST. Chris Hardwick hosts this year’s ceremony.
