Chris Columbus has inked a deal to develop three projects for CBS.
The Harry Potter helmer, through CBS Television Studios and his 1492 Pictures shingle, would direct and executive produce one of the projects should it advance to the pilot stage.
The feature helmer, whose credits include Home Alone and three of the Harry Potter films, would be making his TV directing debut.
The deal comes at the end of a development season that was heavy with feature directors leading pilots. CBS’ newly picked up Patrick Wilson drama A Gifted Man was directed by Jonathan Demme (The Silence of the Lambs) and its midseason entry The 2-2 was helmed by James Mangold (3:10 to Yuma).
Columbus is repped by WME.
