Wilshire Studios has inked overall deals with two veteran unscripted producers.
Stephanie Bloch Chambers, who’s behind USA Network’s newly renewed Chrisley Knows Best, and C. Russell Muth, producer of DEA and Bordertown Laredo, have signed new pacts with the NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment arm. Gary Auerbach, executive vp development and programming at Wilshire Studios, announced the new agreements.
Chambers is a familiar presence within the NBCUniversal properties, having been a producer on Bravo series Toned Up, It’s a Brad Brad World and Bethenny Ever After.
Muth, meanwhile, worked at Al Roker‘s production company producing several shows such as American Chopper, American Casino, Tiger Team and America’s Toughest Bars for Discovery Channel and TruTV. He also was a producer on The Weather Channel’s Coast Guard Alaska and Spike’s Big Easy Justice.
The news continues Wilshire Studios’ expansion into new areas in the reality space that the company hopes “can be leveraged” within the NBCUniversal cable portfolio and externally across all platforms.
“The world of non-scripted continues to experience a wealth of opportunity and growth. As we expand into new areas and grow our business, it’s imperative that we have the right talent in place,” said Auerbach. “With Stephanie Bloch Chambers and C. Russell Muth, we have two very strong and talented producers — both of whom deliver a rich slate of fresh and creative concepts. With the addition of Benny Reuven, we have a seasoned executive skilled in developing and producing memorable programming, who can take these concepts to the next level.”
Wilshire Studios counts E!’s red-carpet series, Giuliana and Bill, Ice Loves Coco, True Hollywood Story, BBC America’s The Nerdist, Esquire’s Women We Love and GSN’s Baggage game show as part of its slate.
