Christopher Lambert, the actor best known for starring in 1980s cult classics Highlander and Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes, has joined the all-star cast of Hail, Caesar!, the Hollywood-set period comedy helmed by Joel and Ethan Coen.
Caesar tells the comedic tale of a fixer, played by Josh Brolin, who worked for the Hollywood studios in the 1950s. The story finds him at work when a star mysteriously disappears in the middle of filming.
Among the cast are George Clooney, Ralph Fiennes, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum, Scarlett Johansson, Alden Ehrenreich and Jonah Hill.
Lambert will play Arne Slessum, a married European filmmaker whose ??scandalous affair with a young starlet (Johansson) becomes yet another headache for the studio.
Shooting is underway in Los Angeles with Universal onboard to distribute.
Lambert is coming off a shoot with John Malkovich, Rutger Hauer and French actress Vahina ?Giocante in the European miniseries Mata Hari, based on the true story of the infamous World War Two female spy. He recently appeared on the big screen in Electric Slide, a crime movie with Jim Sturgess, Patricia Arquette and ?Chloe Sevigny that debuted at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival.
He is repped by APA, McKeon/Myones Entertainment and Bloom Hergott.
