John Sykes, Clear Channel’s president of entertainment enterprises, will be presented with the T.J. Martell Foundation’s Lifetime Music Industry Achievement Award at the event’s Oct. 22 ceremony in New York City. President Bill Clinton will present Sykes with the award.
A veteran of MTV, Infinity Brodcasting and Chrysalis Records, Sykes also served as president of VH1. He was named to his current position in January 2012.

“John Sykes is not only one of the music and entertainment industry’s most extraordinarily talented leaders but also an exceptional human being whom we are thrilled to be able to honor at this year’s T.J. Martell Foundation Honors Gala,” said Foundation founder and chairman Tony Martell in a statement. “With the help of John’s influence this year, Sting and Bryan Adams are set to perform at one of our most important fundraisers of the year, which helps us continue to provide cutting-edge research for Leukemia, Cancer and AIDS.”
The 38th annual gala will be held at Cipriani on 42nd Street.
