Comedy Central is heading to radio. The network announced Tuesday a multi-year deal with SiriusXM that will give its content a home on the subscription satellite radio service.
The move marks a first for the Viacom-owned cable network. Hundreds of hours of stand-up comedy will be included in the new station’s catalog, including network properties Comedy Central Presents, Premium Blend, Comedy Central Roasts and a slew of the high-profile specials.
Comedy Central Radio will also be home to new and original performances, backstage broadcasts from network events and comedians taking listener calls — in some cases in an effort to promote TV outings.
