The Upside Down is coming to Comic-Con.
Dark Horse Comics is bringing Netflix’s Stranger Things to comics this fall with a four-issue miniseries that retells the first season from the point of view of Will Byers, revealing more about the Upside Down from the point of view of the character who’s spent the most time there, but fans won’t have to wait that long before they can see what to expect from the comic — the publisher will be offering a sneak peek at this week’s San Diego Comic-Con.
The series is written by Jody Houser, with art by Stefano Martino, Keith Champagne and Lauren Affe, and debuts Sept. 26. The publisher’s official solicitation for the first issue reads, “The nostalgia-igniting hit Netflix original series comes to comic shelves. Follow Will Byers into a dimension of decay and destruction where he must use his wits and resolve to dodge the pursuit of the Demogorgon and escape the Upside Down.”
Heat Vision can exclusively reveal pages from the ashcan, along with covers from the first issue by Aleksi Briclot, Rafael Albuquerque, Kyle Lambert and Patrick Satterfield, below. Houser will also be signing at the Dark Horse booth (#2615) on Thursday and Saturday; more details about that can be found here.
