The Quick Pitch: Located along the western peninsula of Culver City near Mar Vista, Venice and Playa del Rey, this sharply formulated boîte on the emerging restaurant row of Washington Blvd. (A-Frame and Waterloo & City are mere yards away) focuses on craft cocktails and New American staples like fried Brussels sprouts with feta, grilled cheese with apricot jam and, for dessert, warm chocolate chip cookies served with bourbon milk. Owners Anthony Falati and Todd Jerry brought in chef Luke Reyes, who’s previously logged time at The Tasting Kitchen and Michael Mina’s shuttered XIV, to run the show.
The Insider’s Dish: The quietly refined industrial-chic décor came into being thanks to an assist from the folks at architectural design firm Marmol Radziner (whose work is favored by the likes of Tom Ford and Flea), where Jerry is COO.
The Must-Order Item: A rich starter of grilled asparagus and burrata featuring a fried egg and cilantro-pistachio pesto.
The Best Table: One of the spots along the long upholstered banquette with the view out along palm-lined Washington Blvd.
The Industry Neighbor: Visual effects company LOOK!, which most recently worked on Moonrise Kingdom and The Dictator.
