Cosmopolitan magazine went big for their 50th anniversary cover — really big. They managed to get the entire female Kardashian-Jenner clan to pose together, which is the first time in four years they’ve done so. But not everyone is so thrilled with the results.

The ladies — Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner — are thrilled with it, as they should be considering the magazine named them “America’s First Family” on the cover. But that proclamation is rubbing readers the wrong way.

America has a first family, and it’s made up of Barack Obama, his wife, Michelle, and daughters Malia and Sasha. As pervasive as the Kardashians and Jenners have made themselves, it somehow seems slanderous to give a reality family that title. Indeed, Cosmo’s Facebook page and other outlets have been blowing up with comments that the cover is “disgraceful,” “gross” and “disrespectful.”

This passionate response is not dissimilar from the one Vogue received after putting Kim and hubby Kanye West on their cover. It’s perhaps a coincidence that West has recently announced he plans to make a bid at the presidency, which would make them the actual first family. Imagine that.
