Craig Ferguson Late Late Show - H 2014
Sonja Flemming/CBSSure, Craig Ferguson is happy for British comic James Corden, who has officially been tapped as his The Late Late Show successor when he retires at the end of the year.
“He’s very, very good,” Ferguson said on Monday’s show, before placing Corden’s portrait on the mantel in his set. But later in the show, he commiserated with former Dallas Cowboy Michael Irving, who said he was sort of glad the last time the Cowboys won the Super Bowl was when he was on the team. His reasoning? You want the people to miss the days when you were a part of it.
Ferguson agreed, saying he wants Corden to do well, but he also wants the audience to sort of yearn for the glory days when Ferguson hosted.
Elsewhere on late night TV, Jimmy Kimmel welcomed Girls star Lena Dunham, who talked about having brought her dad to a recent awards show. Apparently, her dad was a little too obsessed with keeping tabs on a certain Breaking Bad star’s red-carpet whereabouts. “My dad just focused his attention on Bryan Cranston, and whenever Bryan would move from one interview station to the next, [my dad] would yell [at me], ‘Move! Move!’ ” she said.
