Who does the Smithsonian Institution consider A-list in Hollywood?
A small group of well-known Asian Americans has been invited to a private meeting with the museum on Jan. 26 to discuss the role of Asian Americans in the arts and how their story should be told in the Smithsonian’s Asian Pacific American Center on the National Mall, an emerging sister gallery to the wildly successful National Museum of African American History and Culture.
The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Daniel Dae Kim, Handmaid’s Tale co-executive producer Yahlin Chang, Lisa Ling, showrunner Albert Kim, and Soo Hugh, executive producer of Apple’s upcoming Pachinko, all made the cut. The virtual session will be hosted and moderated by Smithsonian APAC board member Janice Min (former co-president of The Hollywood Reporter and Billboard) and power WME agent turned manager Theresa Kang-Lowe.
