Sony is shuffling a few of their big upcoming releases.
The long-awaited Stephen King adaptation, The Dark Tower, is moving from its current February 2017 release to a summer slot: July 28, 2017. The MRC and Imagine Entertainment production stars Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey.
Jumanji, another Sony project, was previously dated for the July 28 date that has now been taken over by Dark Tower. The Dwayne Johnson-starrer has been moved to Dec. 22, 2017. A holiday release is typical for family-friendly fare like Jumanji.
Pitch Perfect 3 and Blue Sky’s Ferdinand the Bull movie are also opening on the Dec. 22 date.
