Dennis Quaid‘s wife has filed for divorce after nearly eight years of marriage, THR confirms.
“We can confirm that Kimberley Quaid has filed for divorce,” said a statement issued by the actor’s publicists, Lisa Kasteler and Cara Tripicchio. “Contrary to what has been reported, a satisfactory settlement is being worked out for both parties. We will not be providing any further information on this private matter.”
According to TMZ, Kimberly Buffington-Quaid, a former real estate agent from Austin, Texas, said in her filing that the relationship had “become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities.”

The pair tied the knot in July 2004, and are parents to 4-year-old twins Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace. They will share custody of the children as part of a temporary order that also grants Buffington-Quaid use of their main home and Mercedes, TMZ said. She is requesting spousal support and attorney’s fees.
Quaid was previously married to Meg Ryan, with whom he as a son, Jack, and actress P.J. Soles.
Quaid, who recently portrayed Bill Clinton in the HBO miniseries The Special Relationship, will soon be seen on the small screen in an untitled CBS cowboy drama co-starring Michael Chiklis.
