Google is pushing hard for the (stylish) general public to get their hands on a pair of Google Glass. In April, the tech giant gave interested buyers an opportunity to purchase Glass for one day; and in March, the company announced its partnership with Luxottica, Ray-Ban and Oakley’s parent company to incorporate Glass features into the eyewear brands’ signature frames. Now, it’s tapping into the luxury consumer.
On Tuesday, Google announced its next collaboration will be with Diane von Furstenberg, again (she first tested the high-tech frames at Fashion Week), and with luxe online retailer Net-a-Porter.

The DVF Made for Glass will offer a selection of optical frames in five colors, as well as two sunglasses designed in four different hues. The collection will be available starting June 23 at google.com/glass and Net-a-Porter.com, which will be the first e-retailer, aside from Google’s website, to sell Glass. Net-a-Porter will also retail “a $1,700 prepackaged bundle that includes Glass, a DVF optical frame, a sunglass style, a mono earbud and a case,” according to WWD.
Mr Porter, Net-a-Porter’s menswear website, will also offer Glass too, with a similar prepackage valued at $1,650.
