COLOGNE, Germany – For it’s 52nd edition, Poland’s Plus Camerimage Festival has again lined up an impressive body of jurors, including directors Albert Hughes (The Book Of Eli), Roger Donaldson (The Bank Job) and Joel Schumacher (Falling Down) as well as such acclaimed cinematographers as Oscar-winners Haskell Wexler (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest), Walter Lassally (Zorba the Greek) and Vilmos Zsigmond (The Deer Hunter) to judge films in the festival’s many sections.
Donaldson, whose upcoming project Cities features Kirsten Dunst, Orlando Bloom, Clive Owen and Slumdog Millionaire’s Anil Kapoor, will be jury president of Camerimage’s main competition section. Schumacher will head up the jury for the festival’s Polish Films Competition.
Albert Hughes is jury president for the Director’s Debut Film Competition while director Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies) will be jury president for the Student Etudes Competition.
Other industry luminaries set to judge at Plus Camerimage include German cinematographer Karl Walter Lindenlaub, whose credits include Independence Day and the recently-released Dolphin Tale; Cat People star Nastassja Kinski and Nikki Parker, evp at PR giant Rogers & Cowan.
The Plus Camerimage is Poland’s largest international festival and arguably the best-known fest dedicated to the art of cinematography. The 2011 edition runs Nov. 26-Dec. 3 in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
