Disney announced 13 new original series to its Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior lineup during its upfront presentation to advertisers Wednesday in New York.
The new offerings include the animated series Gravity Falls, ANT Farm, and Jessie, starring Disney Channel favorite Debby Ryan as a rural teen from Texas who moves to New York and becomes an au pair to a wealthy family with four teens, as THR reported Tuesday.
Disney also picked up the pilot Madison High, starring Ugly Betty’s Mark Indelicato in the music and dance comedy. Series Shake it Up, Phineas and Ferb and Good Luck Charlie also will be back with new episodes.
Telefilms Frenemies and Geek Charming, starring Modern Family’s Sarah Hyland and High School Musical 3: Senior Year’s Matt Prokop, will also debut on Disney Channel.
Disney XD, meanwhile, is adding the live-action Kickin’ It, animated series Ultimate Spider-Man, Motorcity and Tron: Uprising; returning to its schedule are Pair of Kings and Kick Buttowski — Suburban Daredevil.
Animated series Doc McStuffins will launch the 24-hour Disney Junior channel next year. The program will be joined by the first animated Western for preschoolers, Oki’s Oasis, featuring the voice of Mandy Moore; Sofia the First; 7D; Minnie Bow-Toons; and Jake and the Never Land Pirates.
