DKNY is looking to start over, beginning with purging its past Twitter and Instagram posts that were once handled by DKNY PR Girl, otherwise known as Aliza Licht, the brand’s senior vp global communications.
Mashable reports that there was a suspicious tweet earlier this month that basically foreshadowed DKNY’s social media cleanse. The tweet, written by Licht, announced that if anyone wanted to communicate with her about anything personal or related to her book, Leave Your Mark, they could tweet at her personal account, @AlizaLicht, instead. Mashable has since confirmed that DKNY PR Girl is no longer around, and Licht will still remain with the brand.

DKNY’s current Twitter account is blank, while its Instagram features 12 black-and-white photos that form a collage with its profile simply stating, “Work in progress. 9.16.15.” (The date is a reference to its upcoming show during NYFW.)
However sad it may be to see the disappearance of the online personality, having once provided a genuine connection between fans and the New York fashion house with her wit and sass, it makes sense.

In April, Donna Karan International named Public School designers Maxwell Osborne and Dao Yi Chow as the label’s new creative directors. Not long after, Donna Karan announced she was stepping down after 31 years as the chief designer of DKI, which includes both Donna Karan and DKNY. The legendary designer will still serve as an adviser to DKI, but her main focus will be on her Urban Zen Foundation.
As mentioned, should fans of Licht want to chat with her on Twitter, she’s around via her personal account (thank goodness).
