Getty ImagesVin Scully‘s days as the voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers may be nearing an end.
The legendary baseball announcer will return for the 2016 season, but the 87-year-old Scully said over the weekend that it would likely be his final year with the team.

“Realistically, next year will be my last year [with the Dodgers],” Scully said, according to a post on the Dodgers’ Twitter page on Saturday.
Jimmy Kimmel appeared on a video recording during the Dodgers’ game Friday to announce that Scully would indeed return next season.

“Vin will be back for one more year (at least),” Kimmel told the crowd. “God bless us, everyone.”
Scully has been public in recent years about contemplating retirement. He has been the Dodgers announcer since 1950, the longest tenure for a sportscaster with any team in any sport.
