Mad Men 301 Jon Hamm - H 2014
AMCDon Draper’s signature suit and fedora will make their forever home at the Smithsonian, AMC announced on Tuesday.
On March 27, Jon Hamm‘s infamous Mad Men ensemble will join the museum’s collection following a ceremony passing on the costume.

Draper’s bar cart and the original season-one finale script will also permanently live at the museum, reported the Los Angeles Times.
“We are proud and a little overwhelmed by the interest and enthusiasm from these prestigious cultural organizations, and grateful for the opportunity it’s created for us to give back to our amazing fans who have been there from the beginning,” Mad Men creator Matthew Weiner said in a press release.

Hamm’s signature costume’s joining the museum is only part of numerous screenings, exhibitions, conversations and events happening throughout New York, Los Angeles and Washington, D.C. leading up to the AMC show’s seven final episodes.
Other events include a panel conversation following a LACMA screening at the end of March; a costume exhibition at Queens’ Museum of the Moving Image running from March through June; and a conversation with the cast at the Film Society of Lincoln Center in March.
Mad Men‘s final seven episodes begin airing April 5 on AMC.
