Entourage creator Doug Ellin has been tapped to do a script polish on Grudge Match, Warner Bros.’ boxing comedy that Pete Segel is attached to direct.
The story, which could be described as Grumpy Old Men with pugilists, follows two boxers who, 50 years after their last fight, are coaxed out of retirement for one final match.
Billy Gerber and Mark Steven Johnson are producing.
Ellin, repped by CAA and Ziffren Brittenham, guided Entourage for eight seasons and 25 Emmy nominations. During that time, he also squeezed in some feature work, doing uncredited rewrites on the Farrelly Brothers comedy The Heartbreak Kid and the Ashton Kutcher–Brittany Murphy comedy Just Married.
Ellin was working on two pilots for HBO, 40 and Da Brick, but the cable channel recently opted not to move forward with them.
