
Thanks in part to premiere-week shows featuring Casey Anthony's parents, "Dr. Phil" ratings have rocketed to a 3.9, with a (metered market) 10 percent share of the viewing audience, according to Nielsen.

Dr. Phil McGraw has signed a deal with British tabloid the Daily Mail to create a daily news and entertainment program, DailyMailTV.
The show will launch next year on Dailymail.com, with CBS Television Distribution syndicating the program in the U.S.

The Daily Mail announced the deal, between the company and Stage 29, the TV production company run by McGraw and his son Jay, at the Cannes Lions festival on Thursday. The show is set to launch in the fall of 2016. Details of the show are scarce — the Daily Mail would not say what the format would be and who would host DailyMailTV, but the company said the show would be shot out of the DailyMail.com offices in New York, as well as in the L.A., London and Sydney newsrooms. Much like the newspaper’s homepage, Dailymail.com, the show will focus on breaking news, crime, health and showbiz.
“DailyMail.com is famous for shining a light on the most important issues that matter but might have been overlooked by everyone else,” said DailyMail.com publisher Martin Clarke in a statement. “We’re also not afraid to rattle some cages and demand answers without fear or favor.”
Carla Pennington, executive producer of Dr. Phil’s syndicated talk show and the Jay McGraw-produced syndicated show The Doctors, is on board to exec produce the new show with Jay and Phil McGraw.
The Mail Online, which specializes in sensational stories typically involving some combination of celebrities, sex, crime or violence, is the most-visited news site in the U.S. In January, it recorded more than 51 million unique visitors in the U.S. The British tabloid bills itself as the most-read English-language news site in the world.
