Dustin Hoffman Critics Choice Awards - H 2012
Getty ImagesDustin Hoffman, Alec Baldwin and Spike Lee will all take part in the TCM Classic Film Festival, which runs from March 26-29 in Hollywood. Hoffman is scheduled to take part in a conversation with Baldwin, co-host of Turner Classic Movie’s The Essentials, following a screening of 1974’s Lenny, for which Hoffman received an Oscar nomination. Lee will present a screening of his 1992 film Malcolm X, which stars Denzel Washington.
The festival is also planning tributes to film editor Anne V. Coates, who will appear at screenings of 1962’s Lawrence of Arabia and 1998’s Out of Sight, both of which she worked on. Stuntman and stunt coordinator Terry Leonard will introduce two of his films, 1991’s Raiders of the Lost Ark and 1975’s The Wind and the Lion. In addition to the screenings of their films, Coates and Leonard will participate in conversations about their careers at Club TCM.
As previously announced, the festival’s opening night presentation will be a 50th anniversary screening of The Sound of Music, with Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer in attendance. Robert Osborne will conduct an extended interview with Sophia Loren, Captain James Lovell will attend a 20th anniversary restoration of Apollo 13 and Ann-Margret will be on hand for a screening of 1973’s The Cincinnati Kid.
