Wall Street and American Psycho producer Ed Pressman is set to receive a career achievement award at the Abu Dhabi Film Festival, which starts Thursday.
Pressman will be honored alongside French-Algerian director Rachid Bouchareb, who has been nominated for the Academy Award for best foreign-language film three times, most recently with Outside the Law in 2010. Bouchareb comes to the festival with his latest work Two Men In Town, starring Forest Whitaker as an ex-convict and a Muslim convert. Whitaker was the special guest at last year’s event.

Both Pressman and Bouchareb will receive their awards at the opening ceremony at the Emirates Palace.
Pressman will also be the special guest at the inaugural International Showbiz Expo in Abu Dhabi, running Oct. 21-23. He was due to receive a lifetime achievement award at the exhibition as well, but its organizers have since teamed with the film festival for a combined honor.
The Abu Dhabi Film Festival runs through Nov. 1, closing with the screening of Disney’s superhero animation film Big Hero 6. Irrfan Khan will head up the main narrative competition jury, while films in the lineup include Camp X-Ray, Whiplash, 99 Homes, Hungry Hearts and Two Days, One Night.
