The long-awaited sequel to Coming to America will hit theaters Aug. 7, 2020, Paramount announced Monday.
The as-yet untitled movie will see Eddie Murphy return in the role of Prince Akeem.
Black-ish creator Kenya Barris penned the most recent draft of the sequel, which would see Akeem learning about a long-lost son and returning to America to meet his unlikely heir to the throne of Zamunda.
Murphy is producing alongside Kevin Misher, while Barris is executive producing.
Craig Brewer, who is currently working with Eddie Murphy on the Netflix movie Dolemite Is My Name, is set to helm the follow-up to the 1988 comedy.
