Elizabeth Olsen, star of the acclaimed independent film Martha Marcy May Marlene, has already become a fashion “It Girl” to watch. This is thanks in part to her fashionably famous older sisters sisters Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen, who have a prestigious fashion line, The Row.
Of course, she’s also young, pretty, talented and has been wearing some interesting choices of late, like a short sunny yellow brocade Pucci dress at the Critics Choice awards last week.

The actress has several films due out soon: Peace, Love and Misunderstanding (Chace Crawford, Jane Fonda and Catherine Keener), the paranormal thriller Red Lights (Robert De Niro, Ciliian Murphy and Sigourney Weaver) and Liberal Arts (Josh Radnor, Zac Efron, Allison Janney and Richard Jenkins). And she’s just signed on to be Daniel Radcliffe‘s co-star in the upcoming To Kill Your Darlings.
But on Friday, Elizabeth did something rather unusual for an “It Girl” — which was also, at least to the fashion world, quite shocking for an actress in the style spotlight. She wore the exact same dress, a Proenza Schouler black and floral print mid-calf frock, with Carven shoes, an Edie Parker bag and Joan Hornig jewelry to two events.
The events were the W magazine and Dom Perignon pre-Golden Globes bash held at the famed Chateau Marmont and the Los Angeles Film Critics’ Association Awards at the InterContinental Hotel, where she received the group’s New Generation Award for her role as an psychologically damaged cult escapee in Marlene.

When so many actresses change gowns for each party, it’s rare to find one who perhaps thinks that’s a rather silly idea. We say good for her. But this probably means she won’t be changing from a long gown into a party frock after the Golden Globes on Sunday.
Or will she? We’re on pins and needles!
