As if modeling Marc Jacobs and wearing Louis Vuitton isn’t hard enough, Elle Fanning — who stars in the family comedy We Bought a Zoo (now in theatres) — has now been snapped up by Kate and Laura Mulleavy for Rodarte’s spring/summer 2012 collection.
The sisters are the latest fashion designers to team up with A Magazine. For their Curated by Rodarte edition, they invited the angelic-looking 13-year-old actress (Super 8, Somewhere, Babel) to model their spring/summer season.

Fanning also starred in Rodarte’sfashion video The Curve of Forgotten Things, a play on Werner Herzog’s Cave of Forgotten Dreams about exploring prehistoric drawings in a French cave. The haunting video was released earlier this year. In Rodarte’s strange, evocative and somewhat eerie video, Fanning wanders around oil wells, explores an abandoned house, admires curtains, gazes in mirrors, looks out windows, dances, discovers a light in the garage and mysteriously changes her beautiful spring 2012 Rodarte outfits throughout, while New Age massage music plays.

“It’s inspired by Northern California and the ’70s,” explains the filmaker Todd Cole. “It’s about this girl who exists in this strange place outside of time. She’s digging up things from the land and the past, and she offers them to the sun.”
At the end … Well, if you haven’t watched it yet, we don’t want to spoil it. To find out more about Rodarte, check out their Facebook page.
