Emily Blunt has joined the cast of My Little Pony: The Movie.
Hasbro, Inc. and Lionsgate announced Friday that the actress will voice a new character in the animated movie.
Blunt joins a cast of Kristin Chenoweth, Tara Strong, Cathy Weseluck, Andrea Libman, Tabitha St. Germain and Ashleigh Ball, who will voice the Mane 6 — Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, Fluttershy and Rarity. When a new dark force threatens Ponyville, they embark on an unforgettable journey beyond Equestria, where they meet new friends and exciting challenges on a quest to use the magic of friendship and save their home.
Jayson Theissen is directing Hasbro’s foray into full-length animated features, with Hasbro executives Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis as producers. It is set for global theatrical release on Nov. 3, 2017.
My Little Pony: The Movie is being produced by Hasbro’s Allspark Pictures with Lionsgate distributing and marketing the film globally, with the exception of China.
