TORONTO – With The Artist wrapped in Oscar stardust, Entertainment One has snapped up the North American rights to another French film, Sophie Lellouche’s Paris Manhattan from SND.
The deal for the Alice Taglioni and Patrick Bruel-starring romantic comedy was hammered out by Jo Sweby, eOne’s manager of worldwide acquisitions and SND’s head of sales Charlotte Boucon.
Paris Manhattan portrays a single, Woody Allen-obsessed pharmacist, played by Taglioni, and her would-be lovers.
Earlier French press reports pointed to a cameo role by Allen in Lellouche’s romantic comedy.
Other recent additions to eOne’s North American theatrical releasing slate include Jesus Henry Christ, Starbuck, Wish You Were Here, Virginia and Special Forces.
