ESPNESPN announced Monday the creation of a new position in vice president, original programming and production.
Jamie Horowitz, who’s been at the network since 2006 and most recently held the post of coordinating producer in the studio and event production department, takes on the job. He’ll continue to report to VP of production Marcia Keegan.
“For the past five years, Jamie’s invaluable experience and passion for television has made him vital to the evolving programming landscape at ESPN,” said network EVP, programming and acquisitions, Norby Williamson. “We are fortunate to have him as a key member of our team as we continue to further the creative interaction and cooperation between Production and Programming that will raise the network’s programming to new heights in the coming year.”
The promotion comes on the heels of ESPN president John Skipper‘s recent announcement of corporate structure plans and is meant to strengthen the sporting network’s ongoing effort with originals.
“My goal is to further ESPN’s commitment to the highest quality sports programming and to work with the talent teams we have in place to enhance our content,” said Horowitz. “The sports business is an ever-shifting landscape and I am excited to have the opportunity to help strengthen this dynamic area of our business.”
