The Sports Guy is boarding Disney’s Jon Hamm baseball movie, Million Dollar Arm.
Bill Simmons, ESPN’s hugely popular sports columnist and the editor-in-chief of its pop culture site Grantland, is joining Connor Schell as executive producers on the upcoming sports drama Million Dollar Arm.
Previously, the pair worked on ESPN Films’ acclaimed 30 for 30 documentary series.
In the film, Hamm joins Bill Paxton and Lake Bell in the true story of a sports agent who tried to recruit two teenage cricket players from India into Major League Baseball.

Simmons and Schell had already been consulting on the movie for Disney. The new titles cement their involvement in a more official capacity and set up the next steps, one of which is debuting the movie’s trailer on Grantland next week.
Million Dollar Arm opens in theaters May 16, 2014.
