Hawke has been keeping company with elite practitioners of the filmic arts since way back in 1989 when he starred in The Dead Poets Society. His performances span the spectrum from the seriously intense police recruit of Training Day (2001) to the seriously romantic dreamer of Before Sunset (2004).
