TORONTO – Imax has expanded its pact with Odeon & UCI Cinemas by adding a new theater in the Odeon Trafford Center multiplex in Manchester.
The deal brings the number of Imax theaters operated by Odeon in the U.K to 15.

The latest British screen for Imax is timed to open for the release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
“Imax has consistently strengthened the performance of our cinemas, delivering a unique, immersive and premium cinematic experience that drives higher attendance per screen,” said Rupert Gavin, CEO of Odeon & UCI Cinemas Group, in a statement on Thursday.
The U.K.-based exhibitor is the largest cinema operator in Europe, where it runs 2,182 screens at 237 sites, with 115 in Britain.
