Family Guy took a pretty good swing at Donald Trump on Sunday night when the Fox cartoon featured a segment involving the GOP presidential candidate’s remarks made with Billy Bush over a hot mic in 2005.
The segment, featuring Peter on the bus instead of Bush, was funny but also unique in that episodes of Family Guy are usually produced months in advance, so the show is not able to be as topical as South Park. But, Sunday was different.
In the Family Guy joke, the Trump tape was played in full, but bleeped. Unlike Bush in real life, Peter is offended by some of what Trump is saying.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa! That’s not locker room talk!,” Peter says at one point. “I meant like, ‘good play’ or ‘good pass’ or something.”
Show creator Seth MacFarlane has been an outspoken critic of Trump, regularly bashing the billionaire businessman through his Twitter account, on which he has more than 11 million followers.
Sunday night, MacFarlane tweeted out the uncensored segment with neither Trump nor Peter bleeped. It has nearly 4,000 re-tweets Monday morning.
