Fandango Poll: Stormtroopers and Katniss Everdeen Top 2015 Halloween Movie Costumes

Come Halloween night your neighborhood streets may look like the inside of the Death Star or the post-apocalyptic wasteland of District 13.

According to Fandango, the top Halloween costumes inspired by 2015 movie releases are stormtroopers (a la John Boyega in Star Wars: The Force Awakens) and Katniss Everdeen, everyone’s favorite revolutionary archer played by Jennifer Lawrence. 

In October, the movie-ticketing website polled over 1,000 fans for their 2015 picks, with the Hunger Games heroine and Star Wars baddies coming out on top for favorite female and male costume picks, respectively. 

Both The Force Awakens and Mockingjay — Part 2 have yet to hit theaters this year, but fans are clearly gearing up for the latest installment in both franchises. This means moviegoers planning to go as Katniss or a stormtrooper will already have their costumes set for the midnight premieres.

Runners up are Avengers superheroes Black Widow and Iron Man.

Other top female costume picks include Force Awakens matriarch Princess Leia, Inside Out‘s Joy and Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Furiosa. Male costume picks include Captain America, Han Solo and a Star Wars droid — take your pick — R2D2, C-3PO or newcomer/underdog BB-8. 

The Minions are the top pick for favorite kids group costume, while The Avengers heroes take top prize for favorite adult ensemble.
