So there is an American Hogwarts after all!
Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling confirmed the long-rumored existence of an American school of wizardry on Twitter over the weekend after answering questions from fans. The school on the other side of the Atlantic could even feature in the Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Although Rowling remained coy on the exact name of the American school, she did drop enough hints to confirm that it did indeed exist and that Fantastic Beasts‘ Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) will meet pupils of the school past and present. Rowling also said the school would not be based in New York, would be founded on the principles of Native American culture, and would have a name with an “immigrant” element to it.

The screenplay for Fantastic Beasts will be written by Rowling herself, with the film directed by Potter veteran David Yates. The first film is scheduled for a Nov. 18, 2016, release in 3D and Imax.
